A slightly easier lyric competition.... (but with prizes!)

Following the lead of fellow bloggers GABSTAR (in capitals) and Algo at Wall Shadows I'm putting up a lyrics competition.

Basically what you do is play your music player on random and write the first line of the first bunch of songs down, and when people guess the title and artist right they are showered with loads of gifts, mostly of the virtual kind as I don't have anything to give away. Actually that's not true. The person who gets the most right AND correctly identifies number 25 AND writes the nicest thing about this site by the time the competition closes will get a copy of both of my ebooks "The Perfect Process Project" and "10 Tips to Great Home Video" AND a mention on the hallowed pages of the Musings Cafe. Can't say fairer than that can I? (My choice of winner and decision is final on that.......)

Unlike Algo's selection of 50 lyrics (A song from the soundtrack of Labyrinth...?!?!?!) you'll find mine are a lot more familiar. However there are a couple of off-the-wall entries in there.

But that's all I'm telling you.

I know its easy if you just do a lyrics search online, but that's hardly the point. This is supposed to be for fun!

If you want to comment on the site rather than send me your guesses by direct email that would be great.

After the competition closes I'll decide and award the prizes rather arbitrarily.
  1. 1. I keep on [title] in and out of love.
  2. 2. [title] keeps running away, no matter what's left it keeps on moving.
  3. 3. Some say love, it is a river.......
  4. 4. I see a [title]. I see trouble on the way.
  5. 5. Thinking 'bout the times you drove in my car.
  6. 6. [title] you make me cry. I don't want to lose this feeling.
  7. 7. Winding your way down on [title]. Light in your head and dead on your feet.
  8. 8. Oooooo. Storm is threatening.
  9. 9. You got a great car, yeah? What's wrong with it today?
  10. 10. Her name is Noelle. I have a dream about her.
  11. 11. Can't you see I'm holding your flag. The one that you left on the ground.
  12. 12. Every night I get my money and I go down to the bar.
  13. 13. I'm lying alone. With my hand on the phone. Thinking of you till it hurts.
  14. 14. "What we've got here is failure to communicate".
  15. 15. Loving you. Isn't the right thing to do.
  16. 16. Say its true, black and blue, I can share your situation. Been holding our emotions back, will only make us cry.
  17. 17. Tell her I'll be waiting. The usual place.
  18. 18. Nobody on the road, nobody on the beach.
  19. 19. Baby I've been drifting away. Dreaming all day.
  20. 20. I know you've heard so many people say. I got a different girl in every town .
  21. 21. I blame you for the moonlit sky. And the dream that died. With the eagles flight.
  22. 22. Some people might say my life is in a rut.I'm quite happy with what I've got.
  23. 23. Never made it as a wise man. I couldn't cut it as a poor man stealing.
  24. 24. Where it began. I can't begin to knowing.
  25. 25. Oh it's awkward. Counting to ten. Hours a plenty.
Having reviewed this list I'm not sure what it says about my taste in music (probably that it is rather 'eclectic'), but that's the beauty of being an individual.

If you want a slightly more difficult version of this I would recommend Wall-Shadows as the place to start. I got 1 out of 50 on his competition.....

Enjoy. Have fun. Don't cheat!
(P.S. Regular readers of this blog will have a better chance of finding the answer to number 25 than newbies)

  1. I'll ignore the sideswipe at my musical tastes!

    1. Falling - Mary J Blige? Maybe... RnB is not my strong suit.

    7. Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty (featuring one of the most tasteful guitar solos in history)

    8. My favourite record by the stones - its gimme shelter.

    9. Bohemian Like You - Dandy Warhols

    14. It's a sample from Cool hand Luke and it is at the beginning of "Civil War" by Guns and Roses. It may be yours is before something else...

Hmm... I'm comfortable I have eight, maybe nine right there.
